PrivatePDF depends on established open-source projects. License obligations are reviewed before a processing engine is enabled in the product.

pdf-lib

Used for creating, copying, rotating, removing, watermarking, numbering, and reopening PDF documents in the browser. Licensed under MIT.

fflate

Used to package multiple verified split outputs as a ZIP without sending them to a server. Licensed under MIT.

Lucide

Used for interface icons. Licensed under ISC.

React, Next, and supporting build tools

The interface and Sites-compatible build use their respective permissive open-source licenses. Exact versions are pinned in the project lockfile.

Excluded without explicit review

Ghostscript and MuPDF are not used by the active PDF engines. AGPL, GPL, commercial, or otherwise restrictive processing dependencies require explicit legal and technical review before inclusion.
